Karachi: Parent-teacher meetings have emerged as the most prevalent method of communication between schools and parents in Pakistan, according to a survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan. The survey, part of an ongoing series titled “Understanding the School Landscape in Pakistan,” found that 53% of parents were contacted by schools through parent-teacher meetings in the last month. Phone calls and digital messages via WhatsApp or SMS followed closely, with 48% and 45% of parents reporting contact through these methods, respectively.

According to Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the survey reveals a balanced use of both face-to-face and electronic communication channels by schools to engage with parents. The findings, derived from a nationally representative sample of parents, indicate that schools are actively maintaining contact with parents through diverse means. The survey was conducted using telephonic surveys among 1,415 married men and women across urban and rural areas in all four provinces of Pakistan, with a margin of error estimated at ± 2-3% at the 95% confidence level.
