New York: Terrorism remains at the heart of Afghanistan’s ongoing challenges, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, stated during a recent UN Security Council meeting. Ahmad emphasized the connection between the Taliban and terrorist organizations, highlighting the impact on regional stability and Pakistan’s national security.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad revealed that in the past three years, over 4,700 Pakistanis have fallen victim to terrorism originating from Afghan territory. He stressed that Pakistan cannot remain passive in response to these threats and asserted the country’s right to self-defense, in compliance with international law. Ahmad expressed Pakistan’s commitment to defending its citizens and national security against any acts of aggression.
