New York: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to act on its resolutions to achieve a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. Speaking at an Arria Formula meeting hosted by Pakistan, Ahmad emphasized the risks associated with the ongoing failure to address the tension between the two nuclear-armed states, Pakistan and India.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad highlighted the situation in both the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as critical challenges for international law and the credibility of the Security Council. He also called for an end to the Israeli occupation, advocating for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, enabling them to live freely and with dignity.
