Karachi: Pakistan’s seafood exports have surpassed the $500 million mark for the first time in the country’s history, reaching $568 million during the last financial year.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs reported a notable 38 percent increase in seafood exports over the past two years. The ministry highlighted that frozen fish remained the largest segment of these exports, contributing over $105 million in revenue.

The ministry attributed the achievement to improved export standards, enhanced food safety measures, and access to new international markets. Pakistani seafood is now being exported to countries including China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, among others.
