Pakistan and Gates Foundation to Expand AI Collaboration

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Gates Foundation have agreed to strengthen their collaboration in artificial intelligence and technology-driven development, following a meeting between a high-level delegation from the foundation and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, Ms. Khawaja emphasized the importance of international partnerships in advancing the government’s “Digital Nation Pakistan” agenda. This initiative aims to drive inclusive digital growth, modernize public service delivery, and build a robust digital economy. The minister underscored the central role of the Gates Foundation in helping realize Pakistan’s vision of becoming a digitally empowered nation.

The delegation from the Gates Foundation praised Pakistan’s recent progress in digital transformation, highlighting the reforms and initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Information Technology. Both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, the digital economy, data systems, health technology, financial inclusion, and capacity building.
