Pakistan’s Economy Shows Greater Resilience to Hormuz Shock Than 2022 Oil Crisis

Islamabad: Pakistan’s economy is demonstrating increased resilience to the current Hormuz shock compared to the 2022 oil crisis, according to a recent statement by Grace Lim, an analyst at Moody’s Ratings.

According to Radio Pakistan, Lim explained in an interaction with Pakistan TV that the country’s enhanced ability to withstand such shocks is attributed to greater macroeconomic stability achieved over the past two years. Key factors contributing to this resilience include lower inflation, a stable exchange rate, and significantly improved foreign exchange reserves, which are helping Pakistan to better manage recent regional and global economic challenges.
