Yerevan: Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, Pakistan’s inaugural ambassador to Armenia, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan at a ceremony in Yerevan, marking a significant step in the two countries’ diplomatic relations. The event underscores the intent to bolster bilateral ties in various sectors.

According to Press Information Department, President Khachaturyan welcomed Ambassador Khan and expressed support for enhancing Armenia-Pakistan relations. Ambassador Khan, in turn, conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s leaders and emphasized the commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The discussions highlighted opportunities for expanded engagement in trade, education, and cultural exchanges. The presentation of credentials is a pivotal moment following the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025, indicating Pakistan’s first ambassadorial appointment to Armenia.

Ambassador Khan’s visit also included meetings with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Deputy Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan. These discussions focused on reviewing the bilateral agenda and exploring further cooperation avenues.
