ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed approval of the United Kingdom’s decision to implement a ban on goods originating from illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied West Bank. This move marks a significant stance in the ongoing international discourse surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Office issued a statement emphasizing that the expansion of these settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is a violation of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The statement highlighted concerns that such actions are detrimental to international efforts aimed at achieving a two-state solution and fostering peace and stability in the region.

The Foreign Office also noted the announcements by several other countries, including Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, which are considering similar measures. Pakistan views these international actions as supportive of efforts against illegal Israeli settlements.

Pakistan hopes that these measures will deliver a decisive message rejecting illegal actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle for self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign, independent, and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
