Pakistan Vows Strong Response to Any Aggression, Urges Diplomacy with India

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that the country will respond with full force to any acts of aggression, while emphasizing its commitment to dialogue and diplomacy. According to Radio Pakistan, during a media briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, stated that Pakistan prefers peaceful resolutions but will defend its sovereignty with all available means if provoked, as witnessed a year ago.

Marking the first anniversary of the Marka-e-Haq, Andrabi underscored the significance of the event not only as a remembrance of past conflicts but as a reinforcement of Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its territorial integrity and political independence.

Addressing concerns about India’s military modernization following its defeat in Marka-e-Haq, Andrabi assured that Pakistan is closely monitoring developments and remains committed to maintaining credible minimum deterrence. He emphasized that Pakistan’s defense strategies, including military preparedness and technological acquisitions, are robust enough to ensure national security.

The spokesperson also highlighted the ongoing concern for peace and security in South Asia, noting that aggressive rhetoric from New Delhi is troubling. He reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding position of seeking diplomatic solutions to bilateral issues with India, grounded in international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

On the topic of the Indus Water Treaty, Andrabi stated that Pakistan reserves the right to explore all legal and political avenues to protect its interests in the Indus Water basin.

Regarding the Iran-US conflict, the spokesperson expressed optimism for a peaceful resolution and reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to host discussions to facilitate a settlement.
