Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on power theft, the Pakistani government and military have recovered over Rs107 billion, marking a major step towards restoring the nation’s economic stability.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the campaign against electricity theft has led to the arrest of approximately 83,000 individuals. Notably, during August alone, authorities in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad collected over one billion rupees from offenders.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by the government and military to curb economic losses caused by illegal activities, aiming to reinforce the efficiency and reliability of the country’s power supply system.
