Islamabad: Pakistan commemorated Defence & Martyrs Day by paying tribute to the Armed Forces for their defense of the nation during the events of September 6, 1965. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized the enduring pride and inspiration drawn from the bravery and sacrifice of these military personnel.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the spirit of courage and professionalism was recently demonstrated in operations such as Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, where the Armed Forces defended the country’s sovereignty with the support of the populace. The statement highlighted the ongoing role of security forces and law enforcement in combating terrorism, particularly in regions like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while reiterating the nation’s commitment to addressing challenges to peace and stability.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on peaceful coexistence and dialogue, emphasizing the need for resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions. The message concluded with a pledge to continue supporting the Kashmiri people’s quest for self-determination, underscoring Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and national interests.
