Islamabad: The Pakistan Navy warship PNS Shamsheer has recently joined Operation “TALON GRIP,” participating in various military exercises and collaborations with international partners in the Gulf of Oman. The deployment underscores Pakistan’s commitment to regional maritime security and its active involvement in multinational operations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the PNS Shamsheer, which is currently on regional maritime security patrol, is working alongside partners and friendly nations as part of Operation TALON GRIP. This operation focuses on enhancing cooperative security and stability in maritime domains.
In addition to its role in Operation TALON GRIP, the PNS Shamsheer has also conducted exercises with HMS Lancaster of the Royal Navy of Great Britain. These exercises aim to enhance coordination and demonstrate the capacity of the two navies to conduct joint operations effectively in the region.
The Pakistan Navy plays a significant role in anti-piracy and counter-narcotics efforts under the umbrella of the Combined Maritime Forces. Its persistent presence in the Indian Ocean is crucial for monitoring both national and international maritime activities, ensuring the security of vital sea lanes against various threats.
