London: The Pakistan High Commission in London marked “Jammu and Kashmir Black Day” with an event highlighting concerns over India’s actions in the region. High Commissioner Tipu Usman warned that these actions pose a threat to both regional and global peace and security. The event was attended by British parliamentarians, civil society activists, and media representatives.
According to Press Information Department, High Commissioner Usman condemned what he described as a reign of terror and brutal oppression by Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He cited a severe military siege leading to torture, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings. The High Commissioner argued that India’s actions violate international law and morality, urging the global community to hold India accountable for breaching UN Security Council resolutions on the region.
British parliamentarians and guest speakers expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the issue is not merely a bilateral one between Pakistan and India but an international dispute. They called for an end to human rights violations in IIOJK and adherence to international commitments for a plebiscite in the territory.
