Jammu & Kashmir Black Day Commemorated at Pakistan Embassy in Kabul

Kabul: A solemn ceremony was held today at the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul to observe Jammu & Kashmir Black Day, marking 79 years since Indian forces landed in Srinagar on October 27, 1947. This event signified the onset of a prolonged conflict in the region.

According to Press Information Department, officers and staff convened to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who have faced ongoing challenges, particularly since India’s actions on August 5, 2019. During the event, speakers emphasized the importance of international focus on the continued detention of Kashmiri political figures and human rights activists.

Pakistan reiterated its stance that peace in South Asia is contingent upon a fair resolution of the Kashmir issue, in alignment with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Participants honored the sacrifices of Kashmiris in their pursuit of self-determination and reaffirmed support for their cause.

Messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar were read during the ceremony. A documentary highlighting the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was also presented.
