PAKISTAN, CHINA TO ENHANCE MEDIA COLLABORATION

Islamabad, A decision to bolster cooperation between the mainstream media of Pakistan and China was taken during a meeting involving the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, and a Chinese media delegation spearheaded by China’s Political Counsellor, Miss Bao Zhong.

According to News Release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Among the agreed-upon measures, a concerted effort will be made to spotlight the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects through prominent media channels such as PTV, Radio Pakistan, and APP. Both sides consented to augment hands-on cooperation in areas like joint reporting and the reciprocal exchange of media contingents.

Minister Solangi articulated Pakistan’s appreciation for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road initiative, interpreting it as a symbol of fostering global peace and prosperity via economic advancements. Highlighting the pivotal role of media in enhancing public consciousness regarding CPEC and the steadfast camaraderie between Pakistan and China, Solangi expressed Pakistan’s ambition to intensify mutual ties across multiple spheres, taking cues from China’s accomplishments in myriad fields, such as poverty eradication, research, IT, and media.

Miss Bao Zhong envisaged the CPEC as a “corridor of love” and conveyed China’s commitment to fortifying collaborations with Pakistan in sectors like IT, agriculture, industry, and media.

Several prominent officials, including the Federal Secretary of Information and Broadcasting and top representatives from EP Wing, APP, PBC, and PTV, were in attendance during this deliberation.
