Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and National Telecommunication Corporation Agree to Enhance Collaboration


Islamabad: Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) and National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) have reached a preliminary agreement to enhance collaboration through the signing of a Document of Intent. This agreement is designed to establish a structured framework for cooperation and lays the groundwork for a future Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities.



According to Press Information Department, the signing ceremony took place at PBM Headquarters, with Managing Director of PBM, Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt, and Managing Director of NTC, Maj. Gen. (R) Ali Farhan, formalizing the agreement. The Document of Intent signifies both organizations’ commitment to improving PBM’s nationwide connectivity infrastructure to ensure its reliability and operational sustainability.



During the ceremony, Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt expressed gratitude towards NTC’s leadership and team, acknowledging their professionalism and dedication to meeting the technological needs of public-sector organizations. He emphasized the critical role of technology and communication services in the effective delivery of PBM’s nationwide programs, noting that savings on operational costs directly benefit the vulnerable populations served by PBM.



Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt requested NTC to consider offering subsidized rates for essential digital services, including internet connectivity and cloud services, which are integral to PBM’s operations and beneficiary networks. He reiterated PBM’s commitment to aligning its goals with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s Uraan Pakistan.



Maj. Gen. (R) Ali Farhan of NTC praised PBM for its inclusive social services and pledged to extend technical support with favorable terms. He confirmed the establishment of a framework for long-term collaboration aimed at supporting the nation’s most vulnerable citizens through sustainable connectivity infrastructure.



Both organizations reaffirmed their dedication to cooperation and coordination in pursuit of their shared objectives, with the overarching aim of enhancing service delivery to Pakistan’s most deserving citizens.
