Islamabad: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has reaffirmed the country’s resolve to take all necessary measures to protect its citizens from cross-border terrorism. According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s ongoing military operations target only those entities and infrastructures that are directly or indirectly involved in facilitating terrorist activities against the nation.
In a statement posted on his X handle, the Information Minister dismissed allegations made by the Afghan Taliban regime that Pakistan had attacked a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul, labeling these claims as unfounded. He clarified that the strikes conducted on March 16 in Kabul and Nangarhar were aimed at military and terrorist infrastructures, including ammunition and equipment storage sites, and not at civilian facilities.
Tarar further stated that the visual evidence from the operations leaves no doubt about the precision and intent of the strikes, pointing to flames and secondary detonations as proof of targeted attacks on ammunition sites. He criticized the Afghan Taliban regime for spreading falsehoods and accused them of using misleading narratives and outdated visuals to deceive audiences and obscure the truth.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan, along with the region and the international community, continues to grapple with the threat of terrorism originating from areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban.
