Islamabad: Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced the successful launch of the country’s indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite, EO-3, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in China. This launch marks a significant step forward in Pakistan’s efforts towards self-reliance and technological advancement, with the satellite set to enhance capabilities in urban planning, disaster management, food security, and environmental protection.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the EO-3 satellite is expected to serve as a critical component of an integrated Earth Observation System, which will align with national priorities across various sectors. The satellite’s launch is anticipated to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development in the country.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation for the professional expertise and dedication of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists. He also highlighted the consistent support provided by China, Pakistan’s longstanding ally, in the space sector.
