RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Somalia have pledged to strengthen their military-to-military ties and promote capacity-building initiatives aimed at addressing shared security challenges.
According to Radio Pakistan, this commitment was highlighted during a meeting in Rawalpindi between Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and a high-level Somali delegation led by Defence Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi. The discussions centered on mutual interests, regional security dynamics, and strategies to enhance bilateral defense and security cooperation.
The Somali delegation expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continuous support and the professional role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to assisting Somalia in strengthening its security infrastructure and fostering lasting peace in the region.
