Pakistan and Russia Aim to Enhance Defense and Security Cooperation

Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Syed Asim Munir, has emphasized the country’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its traditional defense ties with Russia during discussions with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk at the General Headquarters.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting took place today and included exchanges on strengthening security and defense collaboration across multiple domains. The talks also covered issues of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to boost their partnership, highlighting the critical role the Pakistan Armed Forces play in combating terrorism and promoting regional peace and stability. The Russian Deputy Prime Minister lauded the efforts of Pakistan’s military in these areas.
