ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Italy reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the newly appointed Italian Ambassador Ugo Ciarlatani in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed Ambassador Ciarlatani and emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the two countries. He conveyed greetings to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and acknowledged her as the longest-serving Italian leader after completing four years in office.
Ambassador Ciarlatani expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sharif for the reception and committed to further promoting Pakistan-Italy relations. He stated his intention to collaborate closely with the Government of Pakistan on areas of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Sharif assured the Italian Ambassador of Pakistan’s full cooperation in enhancing ties, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, IT and Artificial Intelligence, industry, textile, and people-to-people contacts.
