New York: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar of Pakistan met with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty during the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, where both leaders expressed their resolve to enhance bilateral cooperation across several areas.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Egypt, with both ministers committing to strengthen collaboration in trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people contacts. The conversation also addressed regional and international developments, including the current situations in the Middle East and Iran.

The ministers emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to address regional challenges. Deputy Prime Minister Dar highlighted the necessity for the full implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by all concerned parties. Both sides also reiterated the significance of continued consultations under the Regional Four (R4) framework and agreed to enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the need for sustained international cooperation and effective multilateral approaches to tackle common global challenges.
