Beijing, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Mr. Li Xi, member of the Standing Committee of Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held discussions reaffirming their dedication to bolstering bilateral political and economic relations between Pakistan and China. In their meeting, the Prime Minister extended his congratulations to Mr. Li for China’s successful orchestration of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum and his election to the Politburo Standing Committee. The leaders expressed mutual support on pivotal matters and a shared aim to enhance economic collaboration, notably emphasizing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its top-tier development.
They also discussed elevating Chinese investment in Pakistan in sectors such as ICT, mining, infrastructure, and agriculture, highlighting the significance of augmenting industrial cooperation and the advancement of Special Economic Zones within Pakistan. Further, both parties exchanged perspectives on the matters of anti-corruption and fiscal discipline, with Prime Minister Kakar apprising Mr. Li of Pakistan’s initiatives towards transparent governance and expressing an eagerness to derive insights from China’s experiences.
