Islamabad: Pakistan and several African nations have pledged to elevate their bilateral trade to $15 billion by 2030, aiming to expand their economic and trade partnerships. This commitment was announced at the inauguration of the Pakistan-Africa Economic Council (PAEC) held in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the event emphasized the importance of mutual investment and the exploitation of untapped resources to enhance economic and trade relations. The gathering included ambassadors, high commissioners, and consuls general from several African countries, such as Rwanda, Mauritius, Morocco, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

During the ceremony, speakers pointed out key sectors in Pakistan that hold significant trade and investment opportunities for African countries. Federal Minister for Defence Production Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj remarked that the forum would be instrumental in strengthening economic and trade ties between Pakistan and African nations. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi noted Africa’s promising future, highlighting the potential for growth between a rising Africa and an emerging Pakistan.
