Islamabad: Pakistan has intensified its call for Palestinian self-determination, urging UN member states to uphold the rights of Palestinians and reject any alterations to the occupied territories’ status. This plea was made during the 10th Resumed Emergency Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly focused on the situation in Palestine.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram, delivered a compelling address at the session, urging immediate and substantial action to rectify the prolonged injustices endured by the Palestinian people. Ambassador Akram emphasized the importance of admitting the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations and called for an international conference to promote the two-state solution.
Ambassador Akram also reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, a stance deeply rooted in Pakistan’s own historical journey towards independence through self-determination.
