Islamabad: The outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Khazar Farhadov, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr to mark the end of his diplomatic tenure in Pakistan. The President praised Farhadov for his efforts in enhancing the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari expressed that Pakistan considers Azerbaijan a valuable strategic partner and emphasized the growth in cooperation based on mutual trust. He acknowledged the ambassador’s significant role in facilitating the state visit of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in July 2024, which he described as pivotal for bilateral relations.

President Zardari highlighted the expanding collaboration in various fields, including parliamentary exchanges, business, culture, trade, and investment, as well as defence and security. He reiterated commitment to furthering these ties to achieve tangible outcomes.

As Ambassador Farhadov prepares to assume his new post in Malaysia, he reflected on his time in Pakistan, expressing a deep connection to the country. His wife, Tarana Farhadova, presented President Zardari with a pictorial book capturing their experiences in Pakistan over the past five years.
