ISLAMABAD: In a significant move to bolster child-rights initiatives, the National Assembly Secretariat and Save the Children International signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing collaboration on child-specific issues. The agreement was formalized at a ceremony in Parliament House, with key officials from both organizations, including Secretary National Assembly Secretariat Mr. Saeed Ahmad Maitla and Country Director of Save the Children International, Mr. Muhammad Khurram Gondal, in attendance.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the MoU seeks to provide support to the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR) by focusing on areas such as the Children’s Citizens Internship Programme and digital protection of children. The partnership aims to support evidence-based parliamentary engagement and strengthen initiatives that promote a safer and more inclusive environment for children in Pakistan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Federal Coordinator, Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights, and Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Danyal Chaudhry, along with members of the National Assembly, Ms. Asia Naz Tanoli and Mr. Daniyal Ahmed. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to advancing the rights, protection, and well-being of children in the country.

The event also saw the presence of other dignitaries, including Special Secretary (Special Initiatives) Syed Shamoon Hashmi, Chief Technical Advisor Ms. Minail Khan, and officials from the National Assembly Secretariat. Representatives from Save the Children International, including Mr. Mohammad Amer, Mr. Noor ul Amin, Ms. Rabia Rauf, Mr. Fawad Bakhtiar, and Ms. Munazza Ali, were also part of the ceremony.
