Ministerial Meeting Focuses on Trade and Investment Opportunities Between Punjab and Ontario


Toronto: In a recent meeting held in Toronto, Mr. Shafay Hussain, Minister of Industries, Commerce and Investment for the Government of Punjab, met with Mr. Victor Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade for the Government of Ontario. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for enhancing trade, investment, and commercial exchanges between the provinces of Punjab and Ontario.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting acknowledged the increasing economic interactions between Pakistan and Canada and examined the potential for further collaboration. Minister Hussain emphasized the agro-food, agri-tech, value addition, and supply chain management sectors, particularly in dairy, livestock, poultry, energy, and Himalayan pink salt, as areas ripe for increased economic engagement between the two regions. Discussions also included technology transfer and the promotion of business-to-business linkages.



Minister Hussain extended an invitation for Minister Fedeli to visit Lahore, which was accepted, indicating a mutual interest in strengthening ties and exploring future opportunities for cooperation.
