Lahore: Several members of the banned Joint Action Committee have publicly distanced themselves from the group’s violent narrative. This move comes as part of an apparent shift within the organization, with core and other members renouncing the group’s approach.
According to Radio Pakistan, the departure of these members from the violent and anti-state rhetoric of the Joint Action Committee signals significant internal disagreements. From June 9 to August 1, notable members, including Ehsan Shabbir, Raja Sultan, Raja Amjad Ali Khan, and others, have formally announced their dissociation from the group. This development underscores the growing discomfort among members with the path previously taken by the organization.
Experts suggest that these actions reflect serious internal differences, focusing on the group’s methods and objectives. The recent distancing of its members indicates a potential shift in the group’s future trajectory, as individuals seek to align with less confrontational approaches to address public issues.
