Karachi, July 11, 2023 (PPI-OT): Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that the work on making Shahrah-e-Faisal, the entrance to the city from the airport, beautiful and equipped with modern facilities for the citizens, has been started with a cost of Rs195.71million in a period of one year. Development works are going on in the city, will stand side by side with the citizens of Karachi and solve their problems. Instead of responding criticism by same we will respond it by working in the city, the cold breeze now blowing in Karachi will gain strength under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said this on Monday after launching the project for beautification of Shahrah-e-Faisal along with Provincial Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah at the Yadgar -e-Shuhda-e-Karsaz. Secretary local government Najam Shah, Pakistan People’s Party Leader Najmi Alam, Manwwar Wasan, Javed Nagori, Asif Khan, Gul Muhammad Jakharani, Karamullah Waqasi, Director General KDA Muhammad Ali Shah, Municipal Commissioner KMC Nauman Arshad and Other officers were also present.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that the 18 km long route of Shahrah-e-Faisal from Airport to Metropole Hotel is being made beautiful and green, which will improve the image of Karachi and facilitate traffic on this important corridor. Under the project, landscaping, walkways and pedestrian bridges will be constructed at eight intersections of Shahrah-e-Faisal and the entire highway will be developed according to a uniform design and parking spaces will be allocated, he said earlier people entering the city used to complain about wall chalking and ugly structures around this corridor. Karachi is a city of lights and enlightened people, we can’t afford such an impression of the city, that is why this project conceived and am grateful to the Chief Minister of Sindh for providing the money for the project, he said that the Pakistan People’s Party government was the first to make Shahrah-e-Faisal spacious, beautiful and green and fixed the rainwater drainage system here.

After removing the flags of various parties and repairing the infrastructure, now it’s renovation work has begun. He said all civic bodies worked jointly in recent days during offal lifting operation and rains. Water did not stay in the city due to the cleaning of the drains, regarding the development works, the Chief Minister of Sindh has directed that there should be no compromise on the quality, some people are criticizing for political purposes because they see that The problems of the citizens are being solved, we will soon deal with the problem of water shortage and will fight against the water thieves in the city and continue working on all the water supply projects.

Speaking at the event, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that beautifying Shahrah-e-Faisal is part of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision of development and improvement. are implementing, not only in Karachi but also in the whole of Sindh, thousands of development projects are being worked on. The Sindh government has kept billions of rupees in the budget for Karachi, so the city will now be cleaner, better and more beautiful.
