Loralai: In a significant move towards sustainable agriculture, the Landlord Action Committee, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Loralai Miran Baloch, convened to discuss transitioning tube wells to solar energy. The meeting was attended by a delegation led by Malik Ismatullah Kadizai from the Landlord Action Committee Loralai.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting focused on the solarisation of tube wells across various regions, including Loralai, Mekhtar, Sughar, Dargai Kadizai, Dargai Sarghar, and Chinjan. Detailed records of all registered tube wells in these areas were presented, highlighting the need for updated and comprehensive data to facilitate the transition effectively.
Deputy Commissioner Miran Baloch emphasized the importance of cooperation with WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) to address the challenges encountered during the solarisation process. He instructed regional representatives to swiftly compile and submit detailed reports on their respective tube wells to ensure that the district administration and the government of Balochistan could expedite the conversion process.
This initiative is expected to resolve longstanding issues faced by landowners in the region, stemming primarily from the conventional energy dependencies of tube wells. By moving to solar energy, the administration aims to enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs for local agriculturists.
