Islamabad: The Minister of Interior and Municipalities of Lebanon, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to discuss strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Housing Riaz Hussain Pirzada, and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry. The Prime Minister extended a warm welcome to the Lebanese Interior Minister, underscoring the enduring fraternal ties between Lebanon and Pakistan and extending his best wishes to the Lebanese leadership.

During the discussions, both sides evaluated the current state of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation in interior and security affairs. Prime Minister Sharif also condemned Israel’s aggression against Lebanon, offering deep sympathy for the loss of lives and property resulting from the attacks. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Lebanon, emphasizing support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Lebanese Interior Minister expressed gratitude for the reception and reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Pakistan. A Memorandum of Understanding on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons was also signed during the meeting, establishing a legal framework for convicted nationals to serve their sentences in their home countries.
