LAHORE: Lahore Police have arrested 5,486 suspects and registered 5,293 cases against drug dealers in an extensive crackdown across the city this year. The operations have led to significant seizures of various narcotics, including hashish, ice, heroin, cannabis, opium, and liquor.

According to a statement issued by Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the police recovered 2,000 kilograms of hashish, 621 kilograms of ice, and 104 kilograms of heroin from the arrested suspects during various operations. Additionally, authorities seized 410 kilograms of cannabis, 50 kilograms of opium, and more than 22,000 liters of liquor.

CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed police officers to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against drug dealers and their facilitators. He emphasized the need for enhanced monitoring of online platforms used for the sale and purchase of drugs and urged police to identify and prosecute those involved in the drug supply chain. Kamyana stated that drug dealers pose a threat to society and warned against any negligence in actions against them, directing the police to maintain steady operations against the illicit drug trade.
