LAHORE: In a significant move to enhance healthcare delivery, Dr. Zeeshan Haider, the newly appointed Medical Superintendent of Jinnah Hospital, has announced immediate reforms aimed at improving patient care. These measures, aligned with the Punjab government’s policies and led by Prof. Tayyaba Waseem of Allama Iqbal Medical College, are intended to transform the hospital into a model healthcare institution.
According to the Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Dr. Haider emphasized the importance of treating every patient and their attendants with courtesy and respect. He underscored that timely and quality medical treatment would be the administration’s primary focus. To minimize waiting times and patient hardships, a rigorous monitoring and feedback system is to be implemented.
Dr. Haider also declared a zero-tolerance policy for mistreatment of patients, inappropriate behavior, and any form of bribery or gift acceptance by the staff. Confirmed violations will lead to immediate legal and departmental actions. The hospital staff has been instructed to adhere strictly to their duties, with particular emphasis on cleanliness, security, and medical service standards.
All Assistant Medical Superintendents, Deputy Medical Superintendents, and the nursing administration have been tasked with daily monitoring and reviewing facilities within their departments to swiftly address patient issues. Dr. Haider reiterated that there would be no compromises on discipline, punctuality, or professional conduct, ensuring all resources are focused on patient welfare and care. The hospital’s transformation into a model facility will proceed with these practical steps in earnest.
