Peshawar, A significant meeting focused on law and order was convened at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, chaired by the caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah. The meeting emphasized strengthening law enforcement, particularly in the merged districts of the province.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting entailed a comprehensive review of the overall law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. High-ranking officials, including Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary, Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, Additional Chief Secretary Muhammad Abid Majeed, and other relevant officials, were in attendance. Divisional Commissioners and Regional Police Officers also joined the meeting via video link.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was briefed on the current law and order situation, challenges faced, police actions, and future plans for the entire province. The Caretaker Chief Minister asserted that maintaining law and order is a top priority for the government, with an emphasis on providing necessary resources to the police force.
Acknowledging the commendable efforts of the police force, the Chief Minister highlighted the need for improved coordination and efficiency, especially in light of the current situation. He assured that all requirements of the police would be fulfilled to maintain law and order, and the morale of the police personnel would be a key focus.
Directives were given to develop an actionable plan to enhance the efficiency of the police in the merged districts, with the provincial government pledging full support for its implementation. Furthermore, the Chief Minister called for a mechanism to reward police officers for exemplary performance and an improved prosecution system to effectively address serious crimes and terrorism incidents.
