Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Signs Key Petroleum Concession Agreement

Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) has secured a Petroleum Concession Agreement (PCA) with the Government of Pakistan, marking a significant advancement in the exploration of the Miran block located in the North Waziristan and Kurram districts.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan, CEO of KPOGCL, highlighted the agreement as a pivotal step in the company’s strategic expansion within the region. This new venture is backed by the provincial government and other key officials, including the Chief Minister and the Secretary of Energy and Power, who have all played roles in facilitating this initiative.

The agreement follows promising oil and gas discoveries in adjacent blocks, raising the profile of the Miran block. KPOGCL plans to collaborate closely with local administrations and communities to ensure sustainable and innovative exploration and production practices. The project is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the involved districts.
