Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Launches Education Initiatives in Tribal Districts to Boost Literacy

Peshawar, In an ambitious move to enhance educational access and reduce dropout rates in the tribal districts, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarkai announced the establishment of community-based education centers and other significant projects.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Tarkai, in discussions with Mian Ainullah, Managing Director of Merged Areas Education Foundation, detailed plans for multiple initiatives aimed at increasing literacy and providing employment opportunities in education within the tribal regions. These initiatives include the sub-urban education program, rented building program, and more.

The minister underscored the commitment to addressing teacher shortages and ensuring facilities in schools. More than 47,000 students are currently engaged in existing programs like Literacy for All and Community Based Education Centers. The upcoming financial plans involve expanding these efforts to include the establishment of 200 additional community schools and ALP centers across all tribal districts, aiming to deliver higher education right to the residents’ doorsteps.
