Karachi, Caretaker Minister for Communications, Shahid Ashraf Tarar, has underscored the importance of rigorously adhering to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) code of conduct to ensure free, fair, and transparent general elections. He stressed this point while presiding over a committee meeting in Karachi, focused on overseeing election security.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting involved a detailed briefing from the Sindh Chief Secretary on administrative measures for the elections. The Director-General of Rangers and Inspector General of Sindh Police also provided updates on the security situation and their preparedness to maintain peace during the polls.
This committee, established by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, is dedicated to ensuring a secure and peaceful environment for the forthcoming general elections. The emphasis on strict compliance with the ECP’s code of conduct highlights the government’s commitment to upholding the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
