KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab presided over a ceremony for the distribution of 100 houses to minority communities in Hassan Panho Goth, Malir. The event also marked the inauguration of solar and R.O plant projects, alongside the distribution of sewing machines to empower women.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the event saw Mayor Wahab, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, hand over the keys to newly constructed houses in UC-1, Chaukundi. The initiative is designed to provide essential amenities, including solar energy and clean water, to improve living conditions for the minority community. The ceremony was attended by key figures from the Pakistan Peoples Party and local government officials.

Mayor Wahab emphasized that the provision of basic facilities is a responsibility and a demonstration of public service. He highlighted the role of the Sindh government’s special grant in completing these welfare projects and reiterated the commitment of the Pakistan Peoples Party to serve Karachi’s residents. The housing initiative is part of a broader effort to expand public welfare projects across the city, aiming to enhance development and prosperity.

The mayor also addressed the importance of empowering women, noting that the distribution of 200 sewing machines is intended to support financial independence within families. He affirmed the party’s dedication to fulfilling its promises and maintaining accountability to the public, underscoring the ongoing efforts to address Karachi’s infrastructure challenges and improve living standards for its citizens.
