Jammu, August 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) has demanded Statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. JPBM Chairman, Ashok Sharma addressing a press conference in Jammu said that majority of people of the territory were in favour of restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir to preserve their Dogra identity.
He also demanded that the authorities should issue orders to secure ownership rights for land and the right to get jobs solely for the original inhabitants of the territory. Launching a scathing attack on the Power Development Department (PDD) over the issue of smart meters, Ashok Sharma said that the authorities must stop the process of installing these meters with immediate effect so that people may heave a sigh of relief.
He said people are not prepared to take the burden of smart meters and asked the authorities to abolish toll plaza. Ashok Sharma also demanded release of wages to daily wagers of Public Health Engineering and other departments besides regularization of all daily wagers who have completed seven years of their services.
