Islamabad, Following the devastating earthquake on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture earlier this year, the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of sympathy and well-wishes from Pakistanis. The embassy has also announced the opening of donation accounts to aid the earthquake victims.
According to Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, the Ishikawa Prefectural Government and the Japanese Red Cross Society are currently accepting donations through designated bank accounts for international remittances. Those wishing to contribute within Japan or through Japanese bank accounts are directed to the respective Japanese websites of the Ishikawa Prefecture and the Japanese Red Crescent Society.
Two specific funds have been set up for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Disaster Relief, with the donation period remaining open until December 27, 2024. The Hokkoku Bank, Ltd., with its Kenchou Branch, and the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, with its Ginza Branch, are the designated financial institutions handling the donations. Detailed bank information, including SWIFT codes, account numbers, and recipient details, has been provided to ensure proper routing of the aid.
The embassy’s move to facilitate this aid demonstrates the ongoing efforts to support those affected by the natural disaster in Japan. The global outreach for donations underscores the widespread impact of the earthquake and the international community’s role in humanitarian assistance.
