ISLAMABAD: In a bid to enhance traffic management and enforce compliance with traffic regulations, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has launched a rigorous campaign targeting illegal parking across the city. This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and aims to maintain a seamless flow of traffic and an organized vehicular system in the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the ITP has deployed specialized teams to address violations of no-parking rules and encroachments on pedestrian pathways. These teams are actively monitoring areas around shopping malls, markets, and major roadways to curb illegal parking practices. Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan has instructed zonal DSPs to strictly enforce traffic laws and take decisive action against those disrupting traffic flow and discipline.
The ITP has underscored the importance of adhering to designated parking areas, particularly in commercial zones, and has committed to showing zero tolerance towards any obstructions on footpaths, which are reserved for pedestrians. Citizens visiting commercial centers are encouraged to cooperate by adhering to traffic regulations to support the organized traffic system envisioned by the authorities.
