Peshawar: At the inaugural meeting of the newly constituted Advisory Council of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi pledged to restore peace, security, and stability in the province. Speaking in Peshawar, the Governor emphasized the urgent need to eliminate terrorism and improve law and order, asserting these as top priorities for the region’s development and prosperity.

According to Radio Pakistan, Governor Kundi congratulated the Advisory Council members and assured them of his full support in their efforts to advance the welfare and development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted the importance of peace for attracting investment and tourism, which could unlock the province’s potential in sectors like oil, gas, minerals, and electricity.

Governor Kundi stressed zero tolerance for corruption and instructed strict adherence to timelines for decision implementation. He urged the council members to deliver tangible results, emphasizing that the state and the people have entrusted them with significant responsibilities. He also advocated for adopting successful practices from other provinces to ensure good governance.

Acknowledging the immense sacrifices made by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism, Governor Kundi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthen the writ of the state and eradicate terrorism. He promised enhanced support for police and law enforcement agencies and highlighted plans to bolster their capacity through resources, training, and technology.

Governor Kundi outlined a comprehensive approach to dismantle the ecosystem of terrorism, focusing on cutting off financial support and recruitment channels, and enforcing the National Action Plan. He emphasized the importance of education and opportunities for the youth to ensure a future free from violence.

In a message to the people, Governor Kundi assured that the extraordinary administrative measures are not politically motivated but aimed at fortifying state institutions and ensuring public safety. He called for unity among citizens to report suspicious activities and support law enforcement in achieving a peaceful future for the province.
