Islamabad Police’s “Knock the Door” Campaign Advances Tenant and Employee Registration

Islamabad, Amid heightened efforts to ensure the security of the federal capital, the Islamabad Capital Police has intensified its “Knock the Door” campaign. This initiative is directed at the registration of tenants and domestic workers, and it also serves as a platform for the police to understand the challenges faced by the residents directly.

According to a news release by Islamabad Capital Police, the drive is taking place following special instructions from the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. As part of the campaign, various police teams are taking to the streets, engaging in door-to-door visits to ensure the thorough registration of both tenants and domestic staff. During these interactions, the police also seek to understand any concerns or issues faced by the citizens.

Highlighting the successes of the initiative, the officer noted that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Islamabad had documented data for 190 domestic workers across 397 residences within the jurisdiction of the Bara Kahu Police Station. The primary goal of this effort is to prevent potential security breaches and maintain law and order in the region. By registering tenants and domestic employees, the authorities can closely monitor individuals and curtail activities of those involved in suspicious activities.

Additionally, residents have been informed that they have the right to verify the identities of individuals, especially if someone in plain clothes approaches their residence to collect data. The emphasis here is to alert citizens to the risks of unregistered workers and tenants who might impersonate ordinary citizens for illicit activities like theft or robbery. Through these endeavours, the Islamabad Capital Police aims to harness all its resources to ensure a safer living environment for the capital’s inhabitants.
