Islamabad: In a bid to enhance the safety and security of the federal capital, the Islamabad Police have launched extensive search operations following directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The operations, conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs, aim to curb criminal activities across multiple jurisdictions.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations involved thorough checks of 570 individuals, 225 houses, 53 shops, 14 hotels, 223 motorcycles, and 91 vehicles. As a result, two Afghan nationals residing illegally, 37 suspicious persons, 18 motorcycles, and seven vehicles were taken to police stations for further legal proceedings. Additionally, arrests were made for illegal possession of weapons, with one rifle and one pistol along with ammunition recovered.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the primary aim of these operations is to strengthen the security framework and tighten measures against criminal activities. The police have vowed to continue their actions against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activity through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
