Islamabad Police Explores Integration of Electric Vehicles with Riddara Representatives

ISLAMABAD: In alignment with the environmental and energy utilization goals set forth by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Islamabad Police is actively exploring the integration of electric vehicles into its fleet.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, alongside Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, SP Kainat Azhar Khan, and Director ITP FM Ayesha Jamil, convened with representatives from Riddara Electric Vehicles. The central agenda of this meeting was to discuss the adoption of modern, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly electric vehicles by the Islamabad Police.

The discussions involved examining the potential deployment of electric vehicles across various departments within the police force. The meeting also addressed strategies for efficient energy management, the transition towards a Green Policing Model, and efforts to promote modern transportation solutions to reduce carbon emissions.

Participants considered the operational efficiencies and cost benefits of electric vehicles, deliberating on proposals for their phased introduction. IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi underscored the importance of utilizing modern technology and sustainable energy to enhance policing operations. He emphasized the police force’s commitment to environmental protection and green initiatives on a national scale.

In a subsequent meeting, IGP Rizvi consulted with AIG Legal Tahir Kazim and DSP Anti-Riot Force Israr Ahmed, focusing on ongoing projects, performance reviews, and setting new objectives. The IGP instructed officers to uphold professionalism and ensure timely completion of assignments.
