Islamabad: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, extended condolences to Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide during a phone conversation today, following the passing of King Harald V. According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed sympathies on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the people of Pakistan, to Norway’s Royal Family and its citizens.
During the call, Senator Dar informed Minister Eide that Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has been appointed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend the funeral procession in Oslo, scheduled for the ninth of this month. The two Foreign Ministers also agreed to maintain close communication and expressed their intention to meet during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
