Federal Budget Aims to Propel Economic Growth, Says Prime Minister


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the federal budget for the forthcoming financial year will set the economy on a trajectory of accelerated growth. He expressed this sentiment while leading a special session of the Federal Cabinet, convened to approve budgetary proposals for the next year.



According to Radio Pakistan, at the meeting, the Prime Minister remarked that the economy remains stable despite numerous challenges. He noted that this marks the third budget prepared by the current government. In the first two budgets, taxes were levied to meet the nation’s needs and fulfill International Monetary Fund requirements while focusing on economic stabilization and expanding development initiatives.



Tax relief and other measures designed to advance economic growth will be submitted for the cabinet’s approval, Sharif stated. He also mentioned discussions with the IMF’s Managing Director, who reportedly praised Pakistan’s economic performance.



Furthermore, the Prime Minister indicated comprehensive discussions with the Pakistan Peoples Party on the federal budget, with other allies showing unconditional support for the proposals. Sharif also discussed the federation’s additional funding needs with provincial representatives, expressing gratitude for their cooperation and constructive approach.
