ISLAMABAD: Efforts to modernize policing in Islamabad have been furthered with the addition of a fleet of electric vehicles to the city’s police department. This initiative, led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aims to improve patrolling capabilities and ensure swift police services in the capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the introduction of electric vehicles forms part of a broader strategy to adopt modern, technology-driven practices in law enforcement. The fleet was showcased in a flag march that began and concluded at D-Chowk, traveling through major roads in the city. The presence of these vehicles is expected to enhance surveillance and security at key locations, contributing to crime prevention and citizen safety.

The deployment of electric vehicles is set to enhance police response times and operational efficiency. IGP Rizvi emphasized that the primary goal of the Islamabad Police is the protection of citizens’ lives and property. By leveraging modern technology and resources, the police force aims to bolster its patrolling, security, and response capabilities, fostering a safer environment for the city’s residents.
