Islamabad: In a concerted effort to enhance security measures across the federal capital, the Islamabad police have conducted comprehensive search and combing operations, resulting in the scrutiny of 802 individuals and the inspection of numerous properties and vehicles. These operations are part of a broader initiative directed by Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at curbing criminal activities within the city.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were carried out in various jurisdictions under the supervision of zonal SPs. The authorities checked 406 houses, 115 shops, 26 hotels, 276 motorcycles, and 106 vehicles. As part of the operation, 17 individuals classified as suspicious, 36 motorcycles, and one vehicle were taken to police stations for further legal processing. The police also apprehended suspects involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, recovering 333 grams of crystal meth and two guns with ammunition.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the initiative’s primary aim is to reinforce the security framework of the city and restrict criminal activities. He reiterated the commitment of Islamabad Police to continue their action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers. Citizens are encouraged to collaborate with police efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”.
